Hugh Ross has become a very popular full-time lecturer, speaker, as well as author in a number of charismatic and evangelical churches, colleges and schools, as well as praise ministries. Apart from these activities, Hugh Ross also maintained a TV program that goes on the air every weekly television; it is shown on the prestigious Trinity Broadcasting Network. Hugh Ross is currently the full-time minister of an international, non-denominational ministry that deals with apologetics, especially in the area that involves the Holy Bible and science. Hugh Ross was against atheistic evolution; which is the reason why he advocates Progressive Creationism instead. He has important beliefs, all of which are known to strengthen the foundation of his teachings. Because of his acknowledged intellect and obvious dedication, no one makes an attempt to know why Hugh Ross still works to provide support to such beliefs.
Hugh Ross has made available his scientific and biblical reasoning in a number of videos, audio tapes, pamphlets, books, journals, and newsletters. Actually, among the basic assumptions of Ross was that the Universe was billions and billions of years old. He and other so-called Progressive Creationists are in a strong belief that this can be proven by the mere size of it. Of course, this belief can be easily substantiated by other space and astronomical discoveries. All of them, according to Hugh Ross, exist for a purpose and this is to prove everything about the existence of the universe. Hugh Ross flatly rejects all suggestions and facts that the universe and earth are still young.
Hugh Ross developed his love for the science of astronomy and astrophysics early in his life, even as a little boy. Actually, Hugh Ross began studying the stars, planets, and everything else in the heavens when he was seven years old. He was a frequenter of his school library and eager to research on all forms of heavenly bodies, such as the stars and sun. He was fascinated by the mere size and infinite existence of the Universe. Despite his early age, he was already determined to build a career as an astronomer. He went on to work hard to fulfill his dream. At the age of 17, Hugh Ross was the youngest person ever to work in Vancouver Royal Astronomical Society as its observations director. With assistance and financial aid and fellowship grant coming from the province and National Research Council of Canada, Ross earned his undergraduate degree in physics at the prestigious University of British Columbia. Later on, he gained his graduate degree in astronomy from the esteemed University of Toronto.
